Dear friends,
As announced in December; from 10 until 12 September 2004 there will be the 1st European Festival of Town Pipers. We are at work to organize this and you are more then welcome to join in at this unique festival in 's-Hertogenbosch (The Netherlands).
Hereby we would like to communicate the broad outlines of the festival.
The city council of 's-Hertogenbosch is very enthusiastic about the festival and mayor Rombouts will welcome you on Friday 10 September in the city hall. In the evening we will spend a sociable evening with you in a rustic environment.
On Saturday we will all be making music in the city centre of 's-Hertogenbosch at 5 different historical locations, including the city hall and the "Noordbrabants" museum. On this day it is "Open Monuments Day" and this year it has "fortifications" as its main theme. At the end of the afternoon we will all meet at the city hall again.
On Saturday evening we will take you back to the 16th century with "music and dance".
Beside the fact you can meet fellow town pipers, there will be plenty of opportunity to tour the city and we are more then happy to share with you the good things our city has to offer.
On Sunday there will be a combined program of making music and sailing under the old city centre of 's-Hertogenbosch.
The York Waits already were our guests in 's-Hertogenbosch (2001) and the Stadspijpers van 's-Hertogenbosch returned this visit in 2002.
